Dr. Michael Wilwand is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with nearly two decades of experience helping patients return to the activities they love. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency through Michigan State University before pursuing advanced fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine at TRIA Orthopedic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he worked with all levels of athletes from NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA and high school.

Throughout his career, Dr. Wilwand has cared for patients with a wide range of orthopedic conditions, specializing in sports medicine, joint injuries, shoulder and knee conditions, fractures, and general orthopedic care. He has also served as the team physician for both Whitman College and Walla Walla Community College athletics,
providing orthopedic care for collegiate athletes across multiple sports. Here at Klamath Orthopedic Clinic, Dr. Wilwand is excited to continue his passion for sports medicine by working closely with the Oregon Institute of Technology athletic department, helping
care for student-athletes in the Klamath Basin.

He is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is an active member of several national orthopedic organizations.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wilwand enjoys spending time wood working, being outdoors and many other activities. He was a wilderness fishing guide in Northern Canada for many years and continues to love fishing. He is also fluent in Spanish, allowing him to communicate directly with Spanish-speaking patients.
